One Response to See Y’all in Texas! Come Meet PediaStaff at TSHA 2013

  1. Katie P. says:

Dear Fellow Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists,
I am writing to let you know about the CLASP International Book Drive being held at TSHA convention March 7-9. Please forward this information to all of the speech-language pathologists and audiologists on your team.
    What is CLASP?
CLASP International (EIN 27-1520021) is a 501c3 organization that is invested in training professionals in developing countries to work with children and adults with disabilities.
    Mission:
CLASP (Connective Link Among Special needs Programs) International is a nonprofit healthcare and social service organization that seeks to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities in developing countries.

    Goal:
CLASP International accomplishes this by providing formalized disability training to resident professionals in those countries, ultimately seeking to establish self-sustaining programs.

    Vision:
Through these rehabilitation programs, CLASP International is a voice for the voiceless, delivering hope to the lives of children and adults living with disabilities.
In a country such as Zambia, the same size of Texas, there is currently one trained speech-language pathologist in the entire country. In Texas, we have over 10,000. Therefore, CLASP International, with the help of over 150 volunteer professionals, is launching formalized training programs at the University of Zambia in Lusaka, Zambia in March of 2013. The graduates will receive a Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Zambia. Following their graduation, they will be required to follow the guidelines formed by CLASP International under the Ministry of Health for Speech-Language Pathology.
    How Can You Help?
CLASP needs textbooks for our graduate students. Please look over the book list below and consider making a book donation. You can conveniently drop off your donations at TSHA. Just stop by the CLASP International booth. Donations can also be mailed to:
    CLASP International
    3419 Westminster #319
    Dallas, TX 75205

Do You Have Any of These Books?
Here is a list of current book needs. Please note that donation laws prevent books/materials from being donated that have been purchased with government funds.
