Pediatric Home Health Occupational Therapist - OT - Dallas, TX
A growing home health agency is looking for an Occupational Therapist in the South Dallas area pushing into the Grand Prairie area for their growing practice. This position is full time (30 or more visits/wk). Day time and after school (Required 6-8 patients during after school hours). The children range in age from 2-10 and have diagnoses such as developmental delays, autism, sensory processing, Down's Syndrome and CP. Visits are 30 minutes and they pay per visit. Per visit rates are all inclusive which includes the visit, documentation and drive time. Pay dependent on experience.
Qualifications: Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy; a current state license (or eligible) if applicable. Bilingual a plus! Being able and willing to supervise also a plus!
To provide goal directed, activity oriented treatment to promote optimal care focusing on helping the child achieve independence. To also help improve, develop and restore fine motor functions, upper extremity strength and eye-hand coordination.
The following job description will define the responsibilities and duties of an Occupational Therapist and will be used as a guideline during annual performance reviews.
¨ Graduated in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited college or university
¨ CPR Certification
¨ Licensed or licensure eligible in Texas
¨ Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, staff, patients, families
¨ Takes initiative; follows-up in a timely manner
¨ Interprets information in light of experience; identifies connects between issues; makes timely decisions
¨ Optimizes resources; accepts stress and pressure that comes with pursing a goal
¨ Protect confidentiality in all areas as applicable
¨ Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations in Occupational Therapy
¨ Ability to keep accurate records and write meaningful reports
¨ Ability to execute therapeutic procedures and manipulate special equipment accurately and safely
¨ Organize and prioritize tasks and projects
¨ Reliable transportation, evidence of current driver’s license and auto liability insurance are required if working in Pediatric environment.
¨ Accurately complete job responsibilities within the specified time constraints to meet the needs of patients, regulatory standards and customer satisfaction
¨ Capacity levels will be discussed and determined at time of hire based on individual employment status.
