School Based Occupational Therapist/OT - Kelso, WA
The Longview/Kelso area is on the Columbia River about 40 miles north of Portland. You'll enjoy a lower cost of living here and less traffic than the metro area, but still have easy access to Portland on the weekends. Also, Washington has no state income tax!
We need an OT to contract here for SY 09/10 in the Kelso public schools. The caseload will include Pre-K through 12th grade, mostly K-Elementary, with a wide variety of diagnoses; autism, mental retardation, and multiple disabilities. Most typically you'll use a pull-out model for services, with either individual or sometimes small group therapy sessions depending on student needs. Occasionally you'll use the push-in model or work with a whole class, again it depends on student needs & IEP's.

Qualifications -- Must hold a Masters Degree (or grandfathered Bachelor's) in Occupational Therapy and NBCOT Registration. One year of school-based experience is required. New graduates with one year past experience as a teacher, aide or assistant will also qualify.
