This weekend, HBO is airing a new, semi-autobiographical film starring Claire Danes about the life of Temple Grandin, the remarkable woman who diagnosed with autism back in 1950, defied the odds and became a renowned animal scientist and autism advocate. Her work on behalf of the ethical treatment of animals won her world-wide acclaim.

The film definitely looks promising. Unfortunately, those of us without HBO will have to wait until it comes out on DVD.
