Special Education Teacher

Location : Leander, TX
Salary : Depends on Experience

Full time, contract staff opportunity available for a special education teacher north of Austin, Texas. Multiple positions are available so you’ll have some choices in your classroom and age group. Duties include but are not limited to:

*Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
*Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
*Employ a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and capabilities of each student assigned.
*Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
*Provide or supervise personal care, medical care, and feeding of students as stated in IEP.
*Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
*Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
*Use technology in teaching/learning process.

 Qualifications: You will need to have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in education or related field, and a valid Texas teaching certificate. Experience in student teaching, internship, fieldwork, observation and all other placements required by universities or state approved programs for certification.
