Pediatric Staff Psychologist - Washington, DC

We are seeking a Pediatric Staff Psychologist for a children's specialty hospital in Washington, DC, that provides services to children from infancy through age 21 in inpatient and outpatient settings. This family-centered medical facility provides a variety of therapy services to meet the child’s needs.

* The Staff Psychologist will provide psychological services, psychological consultation, and education to staff, patients and their families.  
* He/she will be involved with schools and other community agencies serving patients and former patients, and well as the promotion of awareness of psychological concepts in the Hospital. 
* He/she must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to plan and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.  
* The Staff Psychologist must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status.
* The Staff Psychologist must also interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his or her age-specific and developmentally-specific needs.

Qualifications: You will need to possess Psychologist licensure by the District of Columbia. Licensure by the state licensing agencies in surrounding states may be required. CPR certification also required. Will need to demonstrate a professional and enthusiastic interest in pediatric program enhancement and development to address the diverse and holistic needs of this population.  Will need to possess knowledge of growth and development, and of diseases and disabilities. Ability to work well with others. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Working knowledge of infection control principles and techniques.
