Special Education Teacher positions available for the 2020-21 School Year in Anchorage, AK and surrounding areas.

* Positions available in Anchorage, Alaska for the 2020-21 school year; time frame August through May with some flexibility in start date
* Seeking Special Education Teachers with an interest in working full time
* All grade levels have openings, with a special need in elementary classrooms
* We are specifically interested in teachers who are have experience and an interest in working with elementary aged children with behavioral needs
* Teachers with experience are preferred, but new grads will also be considered

Our ideal candidate is interested in working with elementary aged children and has experience in one or more of the following areas:
*Resource-academic pullout
*Behavioral programs and experience with cognitive, emotional, and/or physical disabilities
*Strong time management and organizational skills
*Understands how students learn and develop and is able to adapt curriculum to meet their needs
*Evidence of experience working with special education students under the IEP protocol for sped students in a public school setting

Qualifications: You will need to hold a Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Special Education and a current state license (or be eligible for same). Alaska requires you to hold a Type C certificate to work in the schools:
- A valid Alaska initial, professional, or master teaching certificate with an endorsement in special education. Type C
- Evidence of content knowledge shown by:
- a posted degree in the content area of this position; or
- a posted minor in the content area of this position; or
- passing Praxis Subject Assessments scores (formerly Praxis II) in the content area of this position; or
- an endorsement in the content area of this position.
