Special Kids Have Hockey League of their Own - featured December, 2009

Check out this great video piece from WPXI in Pittsburgh on a hockey league for special needs kids. This program was put together in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

There are currently 50 Special Hockey programs in over 30 cities in the USA. The goal of the this wonderful program is to give people with physical and Developmental Disabilities the chance to play the sport of Ice Hockey in an environment which is adapted to the level of ability which the athletes are able to participate. The site has information on how to start a program and has a directory of existing programs.
