Qualifications:
- High school diploma or it’s recognized equivalent (GED) and; two years of study at an institution of higher education (72 quarter hours); or an associate’s degree (or higher); or a passing score (455) on a state or local assessment
- Three (3) years of successful work experience with special education students and/or equivalent training or certification in the specific area of need for the student(s).
- Completion of the Fourteen (14) Special Education Core Competencies
- College credit with major in education, psychology, counseling or social work (preferred)
Role Overview:
As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will work alongside certified Special Education Teachers to assist in supporting students with diverse learning needs by implementing inclusive and personalized educational plans that help them thrive both academically and emotionally. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday- Friday, with Wednesdays starting 1 hour later
- Dates: ASAP- 6/10/2026
- Setting: Elementary and High School
- In-person only
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with classroom instruction and offering one-on-one or small group support to students with disabilities.
- Helping to adapt educational materials and activities to meet the unique learning needs of students.
- Observing and managing student behavior to ensure a positive learning environment.
- Keeping records of student progress and behavior, as well as assisting with classroom management.
- Working with students who have various disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism, and emotional disturbances.
