Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Active OR teaching license with appropriate endorsement and authorization. Must meet current federal and state requirements.
- Prior successful experience working in a school setting or with students strongly preferred.
- Certificates as determined by the district including meeting current Federal certification requirements, ability to obtain a valid CPR/First Aid card, Oregon Food Handler card, blood borne pathogen training.
Role Overview:
As a Special Education Teacher, you will support students with diverse learning needs by creating inclusive and personalized educational plans that help them thrive both academically and emotionally. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.
Job Details:
- Dates: ASAP – June 11th
- Setting: Life Skills Classroom
- Caseload: 6-12 students
- In-person only
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and delivers developmentally appropriate instruction using diverse strategies and materials.
- Continuously assesses student progress through formal and informal methods to guide learning and decision-making.
- Creates a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports individual and collaborative growth.
- Works closely with families, staff, and community members to support student learning and develop IEPs.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with parents and colleagues, maintaining confidentiality and respect
- Manages student behavior to maintain a productive classroom atmosphere.
- Adapts instruction to meet diverse needs, including students with disabilities, and ensures equitable access to learning.
