Role Overview:
As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will work alongside certified Special Education Teachers to assist in supporting students with diverse learning needs by implementing inclusive and personalized educational plans that help them thrive both academically and emotionally. This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development.
Job Details:
- Dates: ASAP til the end of the school year
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Setting: School setting
- Caseload: Elementary Students
- In-person only
Key Responsibilities
- Communication Support: Facilitate communication using American Sign Language (ASL), Conceptually Accurate Signed English (CASE), or Pidgin Signed English (PSE) for students who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or non-verbal.
- Transcription Services: Provide real-me transcription of lectures and classroom discussions to ensure students receive accurate information.
- Tutoring and Instruction: Assist students with academic tasks, reinforce curriculum content, and teach sign language to hearing peers to foster inclusion.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, staff, and peers to support Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and maintain effective communication across the school environment.
- Documentation: Maintain records of student progress, expressive signing vocabulary, and instructional materials
