Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors of Physical Therapy degree or higher from an accredited university
  • Valid Connecticut state Physical Therapy license

Role Overview:
A school Physical Therapist works with children to support their physical development and participation in school. They evaluate, diagnose, and treat movement difficulties, helping children reach their developmental milestones and participate in classroom activities This role offers the opportunity to work with young learners in a supportive school environment while making a lasting impact on their development. 

Job Details:   

  • Part-time, 15 hours/week Flexible (servicing 3 – five hour days per week based on your schedule)
  • Dates: 8/25/2026 – 6/9/2027
  • Caseload:  7 students
  • Setting: ages ranging from 3years old – 13years old
  • School hours run 8am – 3:30pm daily and services would be completed during those hours.
  • Specialized Classroom to utilize for motor impairments

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assessment of children's motor abilities in natural and educational settings
  • Helping with Evaluations
  • Development of individualized intervention plans to support physical development
  • Therapy implementation to address areas of weakness and improve functional mobility
  • Environmental modifications to enhance children's participation in educational activities
  • Parent/Caregiver education to support carryover of motor skills at home
