SLP Corner: Understanding Disfluency

PERSONAL ASIDE
A few years ago, I felt I had identified my life’s purpose.  This purpose was to use my life to better understand stuttering and to design a treatment regimen based on that understanding.  I have surrendered myself to and given most of my time, effort and focus to this purpose.

I am a scientific, logical and mathematical thinker and come from a family whose strengths reside there.  However, my outlook on life is deeply spiritual.  I believe the universe feeds you what you seek when you surrender to a purpose.  When you work hard at something; when you follow your heart; when you follow what you are called to; the universe reveals things to you.  These revelations can come in different forms.  They often come in ways one would not ask for, hence, the saying “be careful what you wish for”.
