Slow Vocabulary Growth Linked to Teen Behavior and Emotional Issues

Children whose vocabulary skills develop slowly are more likely to experience emotional and behavioral issues in adolescence, according to new research published in the journal Child Development.

The research is the first to model how  children’s language development influences changes in mental health problems over a 10 year period, from early childhood to adolescence.
