Winter Sensory Activity: Ice Cube Painting

Here is a fun way to explore ice this winter as a sensory “craftivity” with your kiddos!

Materials

  • Ice cube tray
  • Small plastic bowls
  • Plastic spoons
  • Food coloring
  • Scissors
  • Sketch paper
  • Craft sticks or disposable ice cream spoons

Steps:

  1. Put primary colors of food coloring (red, blue, yellow) into separate containers.
  2. Prepare your ice cube tray. Spoon in the colors into each tray section by pairs to come up with the secondary colors- orange (yellow + red), green (yellow + blue), and purple (blue + red).   Kids love to mix colors so let them explore and learn.
