Blooming Paper Flowers!

[Source: Renee OT on YouTube]

Here is a neat spring-themed activity to work on a bunch of skills such as fine motor coordination, visual-motor, and visual perceptual skills. Draw, color, and cut out the flowers, then fold the petals, place them on water, and watch them “bloom”! You can make bigger or smaller flowers to cut out depending on the skill level of your student. (Side note: this video was sped up for time purposes – the petals take a little bit of time to soak up the water and open up) The transition to spring was very quick this year! One week it was cold and snowy and the next week it was warm. I do have to say, I already miss the snow but I also look forward to longer days, warmer weather, and lots of vitamin D!  We plan on getting a head start on our garden this weekend. What do you look forward to this spring?
