Groundhog Day Activities for Therapy

Groundhog Day is fun.  Well, maybe not for Bill Murray but the kids really love it.

Groundhog Day is a fun theme which can advance many therapy goals with children.  The holiday’s interesting  history and tradition lend themselves to a variety of conversations about prediction, teaching about shadows and more.

Here are some activities we have collected for you that you might fit into your curriculum next week for Groundhog Day.   On our Groundhog Day Pinterest Board you will find over 100 activities to do with your kiddos/clients.

On the OT side you will find fine motor crafts, matching, sorting and following directions activities, puzzles, mazes, letter tracer pages, online games and puzzles and more.

Speech-Language therapists will find written and audio stories, reading comprehension activities, word family work, groundhog themed speech sound work for artic practice and more.

Oh, and everyone should check out the pin that goes to the Official Website of Punxsutawney Groundhog Club!
